Our Foundation
As a Southern Baptist church, we hold to the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture. These are not traditions we inherited — these are truths we have staked our lives on.
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to mankind. God inspired human writers — using their personality, time, and culture — to show and teach exactly what He desired to be recorded. All Scripture is true and trustworthy. It is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Jesus was both fully God and fully man. Because of His perfect nature, Jesus was uniquely able to serve as the perfect and sinless sacrifice for mankind. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended to the Father. He is coming again.
Salvation is being redeemed from the penalty of sin. God's saving grace made this possible through Jesus' sacrifice. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation or make ourselves good enough before God. When we trust in the price Jesus paid and accept it as a gift, we receive eternal life.
The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit and He is with us now. At salvation, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in every believer, sealing them for the day of redemption. He leads, convicts, comforts, and empowers the believer as they live their life on earth.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, just, and loving. He desires a personal relationship with every person He has made and made a way for that to happen through His Son.
The purpose of the Church is to look, act, and love like Jesus — together. A church is a family you belong to, not just a place you go. The church has been commissioned to love God, love each other, and share the Good News of what Jesus has done. We exist to make disciples of all nations.
Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Christ — an outward sign of an inward transformation. We baptize by immersion, following the example of Jesus. The Lord's Supper is a regular remembrance of Christ's sacrifice, observed together as a church family.
Man was created to exist forever. Every person will spend eternity in one of two places — in the presence of God, or separated from Him. The deciding factor is whether a person has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Heaven and Hell are real.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."John 3:16
